The Aspen Square at the Parks is located within the 66-acre campus at Historic Walter Reed grounds in Northwest DC. The planned 50 town homes are larger in dimension and greater in square footage than what is currently offered in much of the area marketplace. This project is near Rock Creek Park, the Takoma Park Metro and downtown Silver Spring and offers park amenities such as walking trails, picnic areas, tennis courts and dog parks in an urban environment.
L. S. Caldwell & Associates, Inc. (LSC), as the contract compliance officer, is responsible for implementation, documentation of efforts and monitoring goal achievements.
Specific strategies established to reinforce compliance conformance include:
LSC was responsible for:
- Coordinate the efforts of the developer/general contractor toward CBE identification and development of successful CBE relationships. Develop CBE participation program and implementation plan.
- Work with local community organizations and business associations to ensure specific commitment and economic development benefits occur within the local community.
- Analyze eligible contracts/dollars to assist in purchase order sizing, packaging, subcontractor responsibility and subcontractor availability.
- Develop report mechanisms and provide guidance to the NVR and all project vendors regarding tracking and reporting efforts to reach employment and contracting goals.
- Monitor and track reporting requirements for all trades that have specific contracting and employment goals associated with them.
