Senior IT Systems Administrator 

Employment Type: Full- Time

Location: Washington D.C., USA

Salary: $90,000 to $95,000 per year

We are seeking a full-time employee to provide Information Technology Management Services to our firm. The selected candidate will support the IT needs of our Washington, DC office and our staff working on site, in their homes and/or at client site locations. The estimated total personnel supported is 30. Support will be provided 8 hours/day during standard business hours.

Position Duties:

  • Monitor the performance and capacity, availability and recoverability of systems
  • Schedule and perform modification, configuration and application testing/installation of new hardware, operating systems and peripherals
  • Install new software releases and system upgrades, evaluate and install patches, and resolve software-related problems
  • Maintain data files and monitor system configuration to ensure data integrity; maintain and test/confirm regular data backups
  • System vulnerability assessment and management; Response to security threats, attacks, and similar events; Development of threat prevention strategies
  • Maintain and support security measures and make changes to address the threats and exposures that may arise
  • Responsible for cybersecurity and systems training for users
  • Create/deactivate accounts and configure hardware as part of on-boarding/off-boarding process; Account management, network rights/permissions, access network shares, password resets
  • Manage electronic mail credentials, access and use (Office 365 administration)
  • Printer setup and deployment
  • Provide primary interface with vendor support service groups or provides internal analysis and support to ensure appropriate notification during outages or periods of degraded system performance
  • Follow up on outstanding requests and ensure timely resolution
  • Show initiative in providing great customer support, guiding and troubleshooting with people of varied technological levels
  • Responsible for collecting IT inventory, decommissioning unused assets, setting up, configuring, imaging, and deploying PCs, laptops, printers, and other desktop IT assets, performing data transfers, recovery, and setup, assisting end users, and managing user accounts
  • Develop new strategies and IT procedures to increase efficiency, enhance workflow, and improve customer satisfaction
  • Develop and monitor policies and standards related to the use of computing resources, performance, disaster recovery and project planning
  • Manage Information Technology related budget and expenses
  • Engage with external teams to advance the development of in-house proprietary software
  • Responsible for help desk inquiries and troubleshooting
  • Manage the marketing and advancement of in-house proprietary software

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field required
  • 5+ Experience with supporting Local Area Network, IT desktop/laptop infrastructure and server-related issues
  • Current knowledge and awareness of Cybersecurity issues, threats, IT security systems and protocols
  • Ability to communicate technical information, both verbal and written, to a wide range of end-users
  • Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills
  • Client PC connectivity – ethernet, TCP/IP and VPN
  • Mac and PC hardware, Printers, scanners, computer peripherals, Mobile devices (iOS, Android)
  • Windows 10 and Microsoft 365 administration experience a must
  • Active Directory maintenance experience
  • Marketing experience a plus
  • Industry certifications and memberships a plus

Travel Required:

Rarely, travel to remote office locations in the Washington, DC metropolitan area may be required.
