The West End temporary fire station Fast Fire, LLC, will consist of multiple prefabricated modular structures attached to create a large equipment bay for D.C. Fire and Emergency Services Department (FEMS) vehicles and supporting uses as well as locker rooms, office space, and sleeping quarters for FEMS staff to be used while the original Westend fire station undergoes renovation as part of the Eastbanc Westend Library & Firehouse Project.
L. S. Caldwell & Associates, Inc. has been retained to implement mandated contracting and employment compliance requirements and to assist Project subcontractors in complying with DC Department of Employment Services (DOES), Department of Small and Local Business (DSLBD), Department of General Services (DGS).
The following strategies were established and implemented to include
- Acting as the liaison between District Agencies.
- Conducting Compliance workshops to introduce reporting procedures as required by the District.
- Notifying the CBE contractors of available subcontracting opportunities.
- Tracking and monitoring of all contracting and employment on the project working closely with Eastbanc, the General Contractor.
