The Joshua Barney Townhomes is being developed by Joshua Barney Townhomes, LLC. Joshua Barney Townhomes, LLC is self-performing all construction development relating to the preparation of the land, i.e. excavation, surveying, water and sewer system, etc. Once land development is complete 119 town homes will be constructed by Ryan Homes who was selected by the Developer as the Home Builder (General Contractor).
In addition the Project includes a 237 unit 5 story rental apartment building. The Developer selected McCullough Construction, a CBE company as General Contractor in the erection of the building.
L. S. Caldwell & Associates, Inc. (LSC) is responsible for implementation, documentation of efforts and monitoring goal achievements.
Within scheduled guidelines, LSC will complete the following tasks:
- Coordinate the efforts of the developer/general contractor toward CBE identification and development of successful CBE relationships.
- Work with local community organizations and business associations to ensure specific commitment and economic development benefits occur within the local community.
- Develop report mechanisms and provide instruction to the developer and all project contractors regarding tracking and reporting efforts to reach employment and contracting goals.
- Monitor and track reporting requirements for all trades that have specific contracting and employment goals associated with them.
- A majority of the contractors performing land development are DC-based CBE companies.
- District of Columbia residents comprise more than 55% of the employees providing land development services.
